German-India Round Table (GIRT)

The German India Round Table (GIRT) was founded in 2001 by the Germanentrepreneur Rudolf Weiler in Hamburg. It is the coming together of individuals withdiverse backgrounds who have business ties and interests in India and Germany. GIRT facilitates entrepreneurs of both countries by exchange of information and assistance through experience and contacts. The concept is based on the idea that businessmen exchange their experience directly with fellow businessmen, who are already in the Indo-German business. Therefore, GIRT brings together businesspeople in a relaxed atmosphere of a roundtable to speak about success and difficulties as well as stumbling blocks.

GIRT motivates through views and personal support in taking up difficult cases. This is underlined by the strong attendance. In Germany, GIRT now hosts regular get-togethers in more than 12 cities every two months. IGEP is the organizer for GIRT in North India. Many proposals have been made onhow to support the industry and how to further strengthen GIRT.  Dr Dietrich Kebschull, Chairman of IGEP, has supported GIRT from the very beginning and actsas the chairperson in Delhi. IGEP is open to receiving all kinds of queries and proposals which help to further strengthen Indo-German relations.
