BRAZIL
Brazil and India are both members of the BRICS and G 20 forums.
The commercial opportunities between Brazil and India are growing exponentially. Business opportunities exist in strategic sectors such as mineral fuels, raw materials, machinery and transport equipment, chemicals, manufactured goods, and food products.
Brazil is India’s biggest trading partner in South America. In 2021, India became the 5th largest trading partner of Brazil, and bilateral trade between the two countries increased by 63.5%, reaching US$ 11.53 billion, compared to US$ 7.052 billion in 2020. Major Indian exports to Brazil include processed petroleum products, agrochemicals (insecticides, fungicides), chemicals, pharmaceuticals, engineering products, textured filament yarn, and unwrought aluminum. Brazilian exports to India included crude oil, soya oil, gold (non-monetary), cane sugar, cotton, gum, wood, turpentine oils, chemicals (carboxylic acids), iron ore, and concentrates.
For Brazilian exporters, India has become an important export destination. Between 2003 and 2023, India rose from the 26th to the 13th largest destination for Brazilian exports, reflecting an average annual growth in exports to India of 14.3%, which is higher than the growth of Brazilian exports to the rest of the world, at 11.3% during the same period.
Total Indian investment in Brazil is estimated at more than US$ 6 billion, while Brazilian investments in India are around US$ 1 billion. India’s growth as a global economic power highlights a promising future for strengthening trade and investment relations between Brazil and India.
In pursuit of strengthening business relations and developing reciprocal cooperation, IGEP Consult signed an MoU with the India-Brazil Chamber of Commerce (IBCC) in 2023. Based on the principles agreed upon in the MoU, IGEP and IBCC will encourage the exchange of business trade delegations, experts, and economic missions between both countries.
BULGARIA
Situated in the southeastern part of the Balkan Peninsula, Bulgaria is located at a strategic crossroads between Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and the former Soviet Republics. Bulgaria has been a member of the EU since 2007 and is also a member of NATO and the WTO.
Bilateral trade between India and Bulgaria has been growing steadily. Their economies complement each other in several sectors, including IT services, biotechnology, agriculture, food processing, hospitality, and entertainment. Major Indian IT companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, and Tech Mahindra are present in Bulgaria.
For Indian companies looking to expand into the European Union market and other nearby regions, Bulgaria offers an ideal location and gateway.
The Indo-Asia Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce (IABCC) was established in 2017 by IGEP with the support of the Bulgarian Government and the Embassy of Bulgaria in India. The chamber is based in Gurugram.

HAMBURG
IGEP represents the Federal State of Hamburg in India through its representation of the State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport and Innovation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany with a population of approx. 2 million. It is one of the most culturally diverse cities in Germany which as a strong trading history having been part of the Hanseatic League. Its international importance can be gauged by the fact that it hosts diplomatic consulates of over 100 countries. The Hamburg port is the 2nd largest port in Europe after Rotterdam. It is the gateway port to the world for many countries in Central Europe, the Baltics as well as Russia. Another facet about Hamburg is that it is a major centre for development and assembly for the Airbus company. The final assembly of the popular Airbus models such as A318, A319, A320 and A321 takes place in Hamburg. One of the world’s largest mail order companies, Otto Versand also has its headquarters in Hamburg. IGEP has organized the visits to India of several business and ministerial level delegations from Hamburg to India. These visits have been organized in close coordination with various States Governments in India, Ministries of the Govt of India as well as the various national and state level business chambers. These visits include organizing B2B events to explore business tie-ups with Indian companies, meetings with central and state ministries, signing of MoUs, visits to industrial zones as well as cultural visits and events.
