Senator Dr. Michael Freytag, the President of the Hamburg Department of Urban Development and the Environment (now Senator of Finance), along with a delegation representing Hamburg Wasser and its consulting company Consulaqua Hamburg visited India in November 2006.
IGEP Foundation organized their visit and arranged meetings with Shri Bhupinder Singh Hoodaji, Chief Minister for the State of Haryana, Shrimati Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi and Shri Dr. M Karunanidhiji, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. All the meetings were successful. Consulaqua Hamburg signed an MoU with Feedback Ventures, Southern Chambers of Commerce and Chennai Metropolitan Water.
Mr. Joachim Glasenhapp, Managing Director, Consulaqua Hamburg made a number of follow up visits and gave presentations and speeches to industrial and ministerial officials. Mr. Glasenahpp, Dr. Kebschull and Sharda Subramaniam met the Chief Minister of Haryana Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda on 17. July 2007 at Chandigarh. He gave a presentation on `Water Supply and Management’.
The presentation was received very well by the CM and his team.
As a follow up activity Hamburg Wasser and Consulaqua team headed by Mr. Mathias Stief, Department Head, Wastewater Management arrived in India on 17. September 2007. The team comprised of Mr. Klaus Krieger, Mr. Tobias Hanke and Mr. Michael Beckmann. They visited Panipat and had a series of meetings with the Government officials and personnel associated with wastewater management in Haryana.
The fact finding team was in Gurgaon and Panipat from 17-25 September 2007 and made assessment of the modernization of the water and sewerage system of Panipat. |
