As a consequence of the extensive sectoral coverage and numerous cooperation partners, IGEP has more and more typical features of a programme for enhancing private sector activities. This is underlined by the fact that IGEP is connected with:
- the representation of Messe Leipzig in India. To ensure that India gets better represented and exposed at Leipzig. Similar contracts are negotiated now with Stuttgart and Hamburg and a special cooperation is worked out with Frankfurt. IGEP acts as an intermediary for both German and foreign companies wishing to expand their business activities beyond their national borders.
- the representation of the State Ministry for Economic and Labour Affairs of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and WTSH – Business Development and Technology Transfer Corporation of Schleswig-Holstein for enhancing economic relations.
- Dr. D. Kebschull, the Honorary Chairman of IGEP Foundation, is the Chief Coordinator of the EU – Trade and Investment Development Programme (TIDP), a joint programme of the EU and the Department of Commerce, Government of India.
- The aim is to ensure multiplier effects of our activities. Institutional development also comes high on the agenda. IGEP followed a new competition oriented concept of institution building by helping in establishment of the National Training Centre of Wood Technology & Design (NTCWTD) at Jodhpur, Rajastan.
- The establishment of the chemical testing laboratory at the
Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI, Noida) with assistance from PFI Pirmasens, which is planned and supervised by IGEP.
- It is also involved in setting up the Jewellery Production and Design Centre (JPDC) in New Delhi and Mumbai for imparting in the field of jewellery design. Particular emphasis is given on human resource development.
- the Indian leather industry especially in placing CIM experts for providing training in designing, effluent treatments, etc.
- three PCP (penta-chloro-phenol) test labs which were equipped with the equipment and requisite training.
- the production of carpets without child labour by establishing a voluntary monitoring system, RUGMARK.
- In addition, IGEP has developed strong links with various other government and private sector promotional organizations and has created networks for multiplier effects.
