The IGEP foundation is trade promotion programme sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) in India.

Started in 1988, using various trade development instruments, IGEP promotes Indian exports to Germany and the European Union.

The Programme was originally implemented by the Gesellschaft fuer Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ, German Agency for Technical Co-operation) under joint trade promotion programme of the Indian Ministry of Commerce and the German Ministry of Economics co-operative & development (BMZ) it has become a private foundation since 2005.

IGEP also facilitates technology transfer from Germany for selected Indian companies as an essential component of enhancing their export capabilities.

IGEP strives to promote a conducive framework in co-operation with business institutions and Government departments to help trade and industry cope with trade-related regulations, norms and standards in Germany and other EU countries.

IGEPs special support concentration has been on providing integrated export assistance to small and medium-sized manufacturing and exporting companies in the private sector.
