German-Indian Round Table (GIRT)
The German-India Round Table (GIRT) has been founded in 2001 by entrepreneur Mr. Rudolf Weiler in Hamburg in association with individuals who have business ties and interest in India. GIRT today is a well known organisation where business people can easily get advice and access to information about Indo-German business.
During the last ten years GIRT has emerged as a central meeting place for all who are involved in Indo-German business. In Germany GIRT has regular get-togethers in 12 cities: Aachen, Berlin, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Hamburg, Hannover, Karlsruhe, Muenchen, Nürnberg, Stuttgart, and changing places in Mitteldeutschland normally every two months. In India GIRT exists since 2003 in New Delhi. This year two more GIRTs has been established in Pune & Coimbatore; more will follow. GIRT in New Delhi is not only aiming at regular meetings with people interested in Indo-German economic relations, it specially wants to lend a helping hand in all cases where information is needed or difficulties arise.
At present more than 4,000 companies and individuals are connected through the network of the German-Indian Round Table, in which the heads of the local GIRTs and speakers work on a no cost and no-profit basis.
